To make this an event to remember, we need your help

With the help of our partners at Halfspace we will be producing a documentary of this important event in Match Poker history. It’s therefore important that your home set-up adheres to a few basic rules to ensure it looks its best.

Your basic set-up requires:

  • A high-speed, stable internet connection – if it can handle a video call, you should be good to go.
  • A laptop or PC with a webcam – for video conferencing AND gameplay

You’re welcome to use a smartphone for gameplay too, but using a laptop/PC for both video conferencing and gameplay means you’re head will be up rather than buried in a smartphone.

Hardware & Software Requirements

Video Conferencing

All video conferencing will take place over Cisco Webex.

Download the Webex Meetings app here: webex.com/downloads/

Gameplay

Our software is browser-based, so you don’t need to download an app.

Video Conferencing

The minimum hardware requirements for Cisco Webex is as follows:

  • Windows PCs Recommended Minimum System Requirements
    • Windows 7 Service Pack 1 and later. Make sure your drivers are up-to-date
    • Intel Dual-Core CPU 2.XX GHz or AMD processor (2 GB of RAM minimum recommended).
  • Mac Recommended Minimum System Requirements
    • MacOS 10.12 and later on a supported Mac.
    • Intel CPI-based (2GB of RAM minimum recommended).
  • iPhone and iPad—iOS 11.0 and later, and iPadOS 13.1 and later
  • Android Smartphones—Lollipop 5.0 and later (2GB of RAM required).
  • Web browser—Last two major releases of one of these browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge on computers running Windows, Mac, or Linux.

Video conferencing performance may be negatively influenced by factors such as network connectivity or other applications on your devices. It is recommended that you have control over how much broadband / internet your household / location of play is consuming over gameplay times.

Gameplay

We strongly advise using your desktop PC or laptop for gameplay, but if you prefer to use a mobile device it just needs to be fairly new, built within the last 2-3 years.

  • iPhone and iPad—iOS 11.0 and later, and iPadOS 13.1 and later (ideally using Chrome browser)
  • Android Smartphones—Lollipop 5.0 and later (2GB of RAM required) (ideally using Chrome or Firefox browser)

If possible please have a second device on standby just in case you run into issues.

To make things interesting please dress your room to suit the occasion!

Mascots!

Along with wearing your team colours we also want to see your personality - mascots at the ready!

Camera position

Too high!

Too low!

Perfect!

Ensure you are well lit, from a single light source from behind the camera, such as a lamp or window.

Try to ensure you are uninterrupted during play.

Screen layout

Players are encouraged to use a desktop PC or laptop for both video conferencing and game play because, for the purposes of the documentary, we want to see your face!

To use Webex and play simultainously please simply resize the windows, as shown in the image.

You can use a smartphone for game play if you prefer, but please try to ensure you aren’t always looking down.
